Thanks to MK Ray and all the other hard-working advocates.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.democracyfornewmexico.com\/democracy_for_new_mexico\/2010\/07\/richardson-orders-temporary-trapping-ban-to-protect-mexican-gray-wolf-.html\">Democracy for New Mexico: Richardson Orders Temporary Trapping Ban to Protect Mexican Gray Wolf<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Governor Bill Richardson today ordered a six-month ban on trapping in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fws.gov\/southwest\/es\/mexicanwolf\/BRWRP_home.shtml\">Blue Range Wolf Recovery Area<\/a> in an effort to protect the Mexican Gray Wolves that have been reintroduced to the New Mexico portion of the Gila and Apache National Forests. The governor signed an <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/docs.google.com\/favicon.ico\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/docs.google.com\/viewer?url=http:\/\/www.democracyfornewmexico.com\/files\/richardsonorderwolf.pdf\">Executive Order<\/a> (pdf) today, directing the ban. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.governor.state.nm.us\/index2.php\">Richardson<\/a> directed the New Mexico Department of Game &amp; Fish to initiate the temporary trapping ban, while it conducts a study on trapping to determine the level of risk to the Mexican Gray Wolf associated with the various traps and snares. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153The indiscriminate traps and snares in the Recovery Area are harming efforts to reintroduce the Mexican Gray Wolf to its native habitat,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Governor Richardson in a written statement. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I am ordering this temporary ban to protect the wolves and increase the likelihood for the wolves to survive and flourish.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.democracyfornewmexico.com\/democracy_for_new_mexico\/2010\/07\/richardson-orders-temporary-trapping-ban-to-protect-mexican-gray-wolf-.html\">Democracy for New Mexico: Richardson Orders Temporary Trapping Ban to Protect Mexican Gray Wolf<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yeah!
